Contact Publications (Pty) Limited is a family owned and run business-to-business
publications company originally founded in 1977. The company is currently based
in Kloof, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, and publishes three niche magazines, namely:
Incentiveworld.com - a global magazine which is published quarterly and focuses on
the performance market through travel and merchandise.
Southern Africa Conference, Exhibition & Events Guide - the only comprehensive journal
for the industry in Africa, with a Yearbook and 11 monthly magazines.
Security Focus - a monthly magazine covering the commercial and industrial security
markets in Southern Africa.
The chairman (non-executive) and publisher is Godfrey King who has been involved
in the Southern African conference industry since 1978.
He is a founder member of the Southern African Association for the Conference Industry
(SAACI), which was formed in 1987 and is the representative body for the conference
industry in Southern Africa. He was national chairman of SAACI for five consecutive
In 1997 he was elected by SAACI as the first recipient of the Association’s "Personality
of the Year" trophy, which was awarded to him as the person who had made the greatest
contribution to the conference industry.
In 1998 he was voted "Personality of the Year" by the Southern African Chapter of
the Society of Incentive and Travel Incentives (Site) for his work in promoting the
incentive travel industry. Once again, he was the first recipient of this award.
The managing director of Contact Publications is Malcolm King, who joined the company
in 1992. He has two diplomas in business administration from the University of Cape
Town Graduate School of Business.
